Well Behaved: Expectations, Socialization & Gender - 2022
Curated by Emily Addison, CM Cancel & Tess Howsam

Exhibition on view: August 4-28 2022

Well Behaved is an analysis of society, gender, and the ways in which we navigate these social constructs or reject them all together.

Gender plays a significant role in opportunity, lifestyle, and livelihood of which every individual experiences uniquely. Despite society’s preconceived notion that gender should be dichotomous, many exist inside, outside, and in-between. Join Culture Lab LIC as we explore the construction and deconstruction of such normative standards in this exhibition.

The 37 diverse artists explore the narrative in this exhibition. Works featured range from fine art, installation, holographic, and video.

American Splendor: New Photography - 2018
Curated by Ruben Natal-San Miguel

Exhibition on view: June 1st - July 1st 2018

American Splendour: New Photography is a juried exhibition that called for photography that captures the beauty and splendor of the American spirit.  Despite the clouds that hang overhead, despite our present times of discomfort and wounded spirit, how can we look to photography as a release, pause, or escape? How can photography provide a sense of optimism towards the diversity of the American landscape, its people, cities, towns, families, architecture and natural beauty? How can photography lift us up?  American Splendor is intended to give us hope towards something better.
